Join us for an evening of business expertise, fundraising, cocktails, bowl food and networking…
At the Bear’s Lair Grand Final Event, 6pm on 18 October at The Moat House, you can witness the first ever group of local candidates who are bravely entering The Bears' Lair Stafford...
Ben from Mr Popple's Chocolate, Laura from Blossom & Tied Flowers, Hector from SwiftPeople and Shelly from Stafford Herald will be competing to win business support worth £10,000. You can view the meet the candidates/The Bears videos here: https://www.facebook.com/pg/TheBearsLairStafford/videos/?ref=page_internal.
On the night, your ticket will ensure you can enjoy bowl food comprising the likes of pulled pork nachos, cured meats, tomato and basil arancini and churros with chocolate & chilli dipping sauce. You will also be able to purchase:
- a sway vote – all proceeds to the hospice – which is your chance to influence the outcome should The Bears arrive at a split decision
- a Bears’ Lair cocktail which has been carefully handpicked by The Moat House Acton Trussell and will also result in a donation to the hospice.
You can secure your place online at https://www.khhospice.org.uk/product/bears-lair or by calling 01785 270808, during office hours.
The Bears’ Lair, Stafford is brought to you by 5 local businesses and ourselves with all proceeds being donated to the hospice, so thank you all for supporting our vital care services.

How about a nice little ‘happy fact’ to start the week off…
Our latest figures show that in 12 months we have worked with almost 650 volunteers and all together these super-kind-and-thoughtful people have freely given an incredible 88,288 hours to help us ensure that local people receive the care they need!
This year, we are determined to reach even more people who need us, so we would love to hear from you if you have a little time to spare and would like to help us.
We are particularly keen to find some volunteers to:
- assist with transport, bringing people to us so they can benefit from our Day Therapy sessions (you could undertake our free training to drive our small minibus or adapted vehicle)
- help us keep our kitchen ship shape by taking on a dishwashing session (lunchtime; any day)
- support our shops which generate much needed funds to keep us caring
We give the warmest of welcomes so if you think you could squeeze us into your weekly or monthly routine, we’d be delighted to see how volunteering could work for you. Other roles are available so no matter where your interests lie, if you would like to find out more…
Please call our Voluntary Services Co-ordinator on 01785 254645 ext. 210 or, to help in a shop, please call in and speak to our retail staff.

We currently have a broad selection of opportunities for people to come and work with us.
If you know someone who may be looking for a change in their career, please share this with them so we can reach the local people who might like to join us…
