Donations
Every item sold in our Leek shop has been generously donated by our local community. Your unwanted goods play a vital role in helping Katharine House Hospice continue to provide free, compassionate care for patients and their families.
With your help, our shops raise over £1 million a year towards our care.
What we can accept
We welcome a wide range of good-quality donations, including:
- Furniture such as sofas, armchairs, dining tables, wardrobes, and beds
- Homewares including ornaments, kitchenware, and decorative pieces
- Clothing, shoes, and accessories for all ages
- Books, DVDs, games, and toys
- Electrical items with a plug that are in working order

What we cannot accept
For ethical reasons and legal compliance, we do not sell the following items:
- Broken or damaged goods
- Electrical items that are faulty or without a plug
- Items that need gas
- Upholstered furniture without the correct fire safety labels
- Toys without a CE or UKCA mark

Furniture Collection Service
If you’re donating larger items, our free furniture collection service makes things easy and stress-free. We can collect bulky pieces such as sofas, wardrobes, beds, and dining sets directly from your home at a time that suits you.
Our team will check donated items to ensure they meet our safety and resale standards before collecting them. Every piece of furniture donated helps generate vital funds for Katharine House Hospice.
Smaller donations including clothing, books, toys, and household goods are also very much welcome and can be dropped directly into any of our shops during opening hours.
