“The 18th of November 2017. The day that changed my life.

“I was diagnosed with an incurable condition, and I had no idea what to do or where to go for help. At that moment, overwhelming thoughts flooded my mind.

“How would I tell my husband? How could I explain this to my children? I needed to sort out my funeral plans. And what about work? Could I go back?
What about money?

“I felt too young to face mortality; there was still so much I wanted to do.

Then, I discovered Katharine House Hospice. I consider myself lucky. They answered all my questions and helped alleviate my worries. The support I received was a relief. Someone was truly listening to me.

“Katharine House Hospice offers counselling, not only for me but also for my family. They provide home visits when I can’t make it to their facility. Massages and Reiki are part of their services. The clinical support from doctors is invaluable. And when things get really tough, they offer respite care, managing symptoms and pain.

They’re like a great big hug, always there.

“Katharine House Hospice provides compassionate care for free, allowing me to spend more time with my family and friends, creating cherished memories and fulfilling the items on my bucket list.

“If you’ve been diagnosed with an incurable illness, remember you’re not alone.
