Light Up a Life service 2023

Date

Sunday, 10 December 2023

Time

5–5.30 pm

Location

Katharine House Hospice
(View on Google Maps)

The service starts at 5 pm and ends at 5.30 pm on Sunday, 10 December.

It will include carols, readings, prayers and allow time to reflect and think about those we miss and of course, lighting our beautiful tree.

You will be directed to the hospital car park by marshals, which is a short walk to the hospice.

This is an outdoor event so please remember to wrap up warm and bring any hot drinks that you might need with you.

The safety of our patients is paramount and therefore the hospice is limited to staff and patient visitors only.

Please be aware that we will be taking photographs and filming at this event. If this causes an issue, please talk to a member of staff at the event.

Buy our charity Christmas cards at the service

Send a warm Christmas message and support Katharine House Hospice with a pack of beautifully designed charity Christmas cards.

We’ll have a team on hand selling our Christmas cards at the event, with 23 designs available in twin or single packs of 10 for £3.75 each.

All profits from the sales help us to continue delivering specialist hospice care and support to those that need it – in the community, at home, or at our hospice.

Sign up to recycle your real Christmas tree

Back by popular demand for January 2024, recycle your Christmas tree hassle free and help raise cash to fund our vital care services.

For a small donation, our free collection service helps you to sustainably dispose of your tree after Christmas. The team at Veolia will collect the tree directly from your property and take it away to be chipped and later turned into peat-free compost.

Just register your tree before midnight on 4 January 2024.

Dedicate a heart as a lasting tribute

Our stunning Heart of Memories was handcrafted by local sculptor Neil Wood to give people the chance to add a memorial for their loved ones within the hospice grounds.

This piece of art is inspired by the love that we see everyday and each of the engraved hearts holds a unique memory of someone who is deeply loved and missed.

Our team will be at the event to show you our sculpture and tell you more about it.
