Vacancy: Legal Professional Trustee (voluntary)
Closing date: 2 December 2022.
Becoming a Trustee with us will enable you to use your legal skills and experience to make a vital difference to the lives of local families every day.
Our Trustees, who are also Directors of the Company, are all volunteers and act as a corporate entity through the Board of Trustees. The Board oversees all strategic, tactical, and governance aspects of the organisation’s operation and future direction. It delegates most of its functions to five committees, each with their own clearly defined terms of reference.
An opportunity has arisen for a legal professional to join the Board of Trustees as our current Trustee with legal expertise will be stepping down next year. There will be a comprehensive handover period to support the successful candidate.
You will be a practising or recently retired solicitor, or have an appropriate legal background and will support Trustees in the consideration of legal matters as a member of the Board of Trustees and the Nominations & Governance Committee. The Board meets six times a year, and the Nominations Committee meets quarterly. In addition there may be the need for occasional input to ad hoc projects for example a governance audit or review of a service.
For further information on the responsibilities of a charity trustee, please watch Trustee Responsibilities from the Fundraising Regulator.
