Special celebration for our wonderful volunteers

6 June 2024 | View all news

We hosted our annual Volunteers’ Evening on Monday, 3 June, which saw almost 100 of our amazing volunteers come together for celebrations including food, drinks and games at The Polish Club in Stafford.

The evening recognised the fantastic contributions our volunteers make to all areas of our charity from retail to hospice support, administration, driving and catering.

Many of the attendees also received long service awards in recognition of giving so much of their valuable time to support the community.

Linda Bonney was given a special award for 30 years of service and Norma O’Neill, Irene Simpson and Joan Wood were recognised for 25 years.

Awards were also given for 20 years, 15 years, 10 years and 5 years.

Last year our 245 volunteers provided nearly 52,000 hours of support. Had the charity had to pay national living wage, this would have cost more than £594,000.
