Online Sales Volunteer (E-commerce)

Location: Katharine House Hospice, Stafford

Make a difference with your digital skills

Help us grow our online sales platforms and raise vital funds for hospice care. As an Online Sales Volunteer, you’ll play an important part in listing donated items on platforms like eBay and Depop, helping us turn pre-loved goods into income that supports people living with incurable illnesses across Stafford and the surrounding areas.

This flexible volunteer role is perfect if you love vintage finds, enjoy photography, or want to build e-commerce experience in a friendly and supportive environment.

What You’ll Do

You can choose to specialise in one area or try them all.

1. Sorting & Valuing Donations

  • Sort donated clothing, books, electronics, homeware and collectibles

  • Check item quality and identify higher-value or unique pieces

  • Prepare items for photography and listing (cleaning, tagging, basic prep)

  • Select items suitable for online selling platforms

2. Photography

  • Take clear, appealing product photos

  • Edit images (light adjustments, background cleanup)

  • Upload photos to online listings

3. Listing (Including AI Tools)

  • Create product titles and descriptions using AI writing assistance

  • Use AI image recognition to help identify brands, styles and keywords

  • Upload listings to eBay, Depop and other platforms

4. Packing & Posting

  • Choose appropriate packaging to protect items in transit

  • Pack items carefully and prepare shipping labels

  • Weigh parcels and arrange drop-off at the Post Office

Who We’re Looking For

  • An interest in online selling, fashion, vintage goods, modelling or retail

  • Good attention to detail and basic IT skills (helpful, but not essential)

  • An interest in photography or product styling

  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn

  • No previous e-commerce experience needed — full training provided
