Help us build the future of hospice care

We’ve launched our Building Care appeal  — and we’re asking you to be part of it.

This vital appeal will support a £1.8 million redevelopment of our Inpatient Unit, helping us create more comfortable, dignified space for patients and families.

Why your support matters now

Like many organisations, we are facing sustained increases in construction, energy and operational costs. Rising prices for materials, fuel and labour are having a direct impact on projects like this.

At the same time, demand for hospice care continues to grow, with services under pressure across the UK.

That’s why your support is so important. With your help, we can deliver this investment and ensure local people can access the care they need, now and in the future.

What your support will help make possible

Our redevelopment includes a new 2,200 sq ft extension and improvements to our existing building.

When complete, we’ll have ten modern bedrooms, all with en-suite bathrooms, along with improved access to our hospice gardens.

These changes will help us provide greater comfort, dignity and privacy for patients, while supporting families to spend precious time together.

A vital step for our community

Across the UK, many hospices are being forced to reduce services or even close. Here at Katharine House Hospice, we are taking action to protect and expand care for local people.

Work is now underway following the temporary relocation of our inpatient care to County Hospital.

Together, with the support of our community, we can make this vision a reality.

Be part of something lasting

Kelly Day, Senior Fundraiser said: “This is a crucial moment for our hospice. The Building Care appeal is about making sure we can be there for everyone who needs us, now and in the future.

“We’re asking you to get behind the appeal and be part of something that will make a lasting difference to local families.”

Be part of Building Care

This is one of the most significant developments in our hospice’s history — and with your support, we can make it possible.
