Role Group: Executive Team
Director of Care
David Fletcher began his personal healthcare journey at the University of Lancashire where he studied Paramedic Practice. This led to clinical practice in the Northwest working on Ambulances, Rapid Response Cars and the Air Ambulance before obtaining a clinical innovation role surrounding admission avoidance. He then gained a Masters in Advanced Clinical Practice from Edge Hill University to support his work managing complex patients before being offered the opportunity to work for a large management consultancy, supporting large scale change in the NHS and private sectors.
He was selected for the Darzi Fellowship clinical leadership programme and worked with London Ambulance Service to improve the care offered to complex patients and improve collaboration between health and social care providers. This led to a number of clinical leadership roles before moving to a role as Head of Operations for the country’s largest Ambulance Service. During the pandemic he supported the creation of the quality and operational directorates for the Nightingale hospital in London and continued to deliver healthcare consultancy whilst practicing clinically and teaching under and post graduate students at the University of Huddersfield. Now with Katharine House he works one day per week with Compton Hospice, Wolverhampton in a hybrid role focussed on the sharing of best practice and collaboration.
