Mr Alan Jeffries

Role Group:
Board of Trustees

I was born in High Wycombe in 1951, living most of my life in London and the Home Counties.

In my youth I was a keen sportsman with a particular passion for rugby, albeit with average success. I’m now a keen Nordic walker and regular gym participant.

I have two boys and a girl with the younger two in the later stages of their University degrees.

My working career spanned 40+ years in retail, enjoying a number of senior roles in the operational, commercial and marketing divisions of the Home Retail Group.

I also spent 6 years in the Republic of Ireland setting up and running the Argos retail operation.

I moved to Newport in 2010 to support my children following the untimely death of their mother, moving on to Stafford in 2013.

Following my retirement I have supported two local charities and remain a trustee for the Community Link organisation, providing special needs transport for the local community and schools.
