Our Stafford Shops thrive thanks to the generosity of the local community. By donating your pre-loved items, you’re directly helping to fund free, specialist care for patients and support for their families.
With your help, our shops raise over £1 million a year towards our care.
What we can accept
We welcome a wide range of good-quality donations, including:
- Furniture such as sofas, armchairs, dining tables, wardrobes, and beds
- Homewares including ornaments, kitchenware, and decorative pieces
- Clothing, shoes, and accessories for all ages
- Books, DVDs, games, and toys
- Electrical items with a plug that are in working order

What we cannot accept
For ethical reasons and legal compliance, we do not sell the following items:
- Broken or damaged goods
- Electrical items that are faulty or without a plug
- Items that need gas
- Upholstered furniture without the correct fire safety labels
- Toys without a CE or UKCA mark

Furniture Collection Service
If you have larger items you’d like to donate to our Stafford charity shop, our free furniture collection service makes donating simple and convenient. From sofas and armchairs to beds, wardrobes, and dining tables, our team can collect bulky furniture directly from your home at a time that suits you. Before collection, items are checked to ensure they meet our safety and resale standards.
Once collected, your furniture is sold in our shops to help raise the funds needed for Katharine House Hospice to continue providing care and support to patients and their families.
Smaller donations such as clothing, books, and homewares are always welcome too and can be dropped off at any of our shops during opening hours.
Volunteer at Our Stafford Shop
Volunteers play an important part in keeping our Stafford charity shop running day to day. By giving a little of your time, you can help create a welcoming place for customers while supporting the local community. Whether you prefer assisting shoppers, sorting and pricing donations, or helping keep the shop tidy and organised, there are plenty of ways to get involved.
