On Friday 21st November we were honoured to have been presented with a donation of £2,440 from the Freemasons Grand Charity.

This amount is part of a £600,000 sum being distributed by the Freemasons' Grand Charity to hospices in England and Wales, which have now received over £11,000,000 in total from the Grand Charity in recent years. The Freemasons Grand Charity grant around £2,500,000 to national and independent charities every year.

Dr. Alexander Stewart, Provincial Grand Master of Staffordshire Freemasons visited Katharine House Hospice earlier this year and witnessed first-hand the vital free hospice care Staffordshire Freemasons have helped to provide.

Katharine House Hospice Chief Executive Dr Richard Soulsby said;

“Freemasons have given millions of pounds over many years to support the work of charitable hospices across the country.  This donation of £2,440 to Katharine House Hospice will make a real difference to the support we can provide to our patients.  It will help us continue to provide much needed care to patients and support to families.  We are very grateful for this support.”

Dr Alexander Stewart said “We are delighted to be able to present this donation to Katharine House Hospice.  All members are in favour of the Freemasons’ Grand Charity’s support of the Hospice Movement”.
