Spring signals the launch of our appeal for local people to sponsor an hour's care so that with your help we can provide comfort, compassion and normality to patients and their families.
Just £15 can provide an hour's care for a patient at the hospice or in the community and just as no two patients are the same; no two hours of care will be identical either.
Based on the individual needs of each patient, our nurses will involve other healthcare professionals as necessary to ensure that the care we give is well-suited to the person we're looking after. So an hour's care can include specialist support from Occupational Therapists, Doctors, Physiotherapists, Social Workers, Counsellors, Complementary Therapists as well as our nurses.
Our nurse, Claire Kirkbride, puts it best so please allow her to give you an insight into the approach she and the rest of the care team take and what a difference it can make for our patients.
If you'd like to sponsor an hour or more of care, you can do this now via our website here or please call 01785 270808.
This appeal is very kindly sponsored by Westgate Group so that more of the money raised will go towards providing free care at Katharine House Hospice.
Thank you for helping us to give the best care for local people.
