Katharine House Hospice is joining forces with Stafford and District Bereavement and Loss support service to help local people who have lost loved ones to Covid-19.
A new telephone support line, staffed by trained bereavement volunteers and counsellors is now open to help all those struggling with loss at this difficult time.
Lisa Anthony, Psychological Services Lead at Katharine House Hospice said;

“If you have had a recent bereavement through the Covid-19 virus you probably have a bewildering range of thoughts and feelings that you are dealing with. You will not have not had much time to prepare for or think about what was happening and the government restrictions on movement may have prevented you from responding in the way you would have wanted to. You may feel very alone and may not be able to connect with your usual support network and coping strategies. It can sometimes be helpful to talk to someone separate from family and friends, who can listen and give you the time to talk about how you are feeling”.

The service is able to answer or respond to calls from 10.00am -1.00pm Monday-Friday outside of these times messages can be left and a member of the team will call back, as soon as they can.

The telephone number to call is: 07951 928 592

Records of all calls and caller contact details will be held on a secure and confidential database. Details will never be shared with anyone else.

The service is being provided by Katharine House Hospice and SDBLSS Thanks to The Community Foundation for Staffordshire with funding from the#NETCoronaVirusAppeal.
