Tillington Hall Hotel was the venue for a fantastic Charity Quiz Night, hosted by Handelsbanken, Stafford on Thursday 21st November.

A total of 24 teams and 130 people attended the event organised by Handelsbanken’s, Mary Eustace.  An amazing £1,446.90 was raised on the night for Katharine House Hospice.

Mike Smith, Handelbanken’s branch manager was quizmaster for the evening, and after 8 tense rounds and 80 questions the evening finished with a tie between The Air & Ground team and Deans Accountants.  After a quick thinking tie-breaker question “How many Handelsbanken branches are there currently in the UK?” Air & Ground were crowned the winners with their educated guess of 182 (the answer was 183!).

To help with fundraising, raffle prizes were donated by a host of local businesses including Stafford Gatehouse, The Soup Kitchen, Bright & Beautiful and Tillington Hall.

Mary Eustace, Individual Banking Manager told us “Handelsbanken, as a bank focusing on local relationships in the Stafford area, is pleased to be associated with a local charity which also values long term relationships. Being able to build on customer relationships while raising money for a charity undertaking care for people in their hour of need, has proved extremely rewarding to our office and helped generate vital funds for Katharine House Hospice.

We were thrilled at the level of support and generosity of both our clients and local professionals, who contributed to an evening of fun, competition and a wonderful atmosphere. It has encouraged us to seek to make it an annual event and we will continue our work in raising much needed funds for this exceptional cause."

Becky Martin, Corporate Fundraiser from Katharine House said “The event was a great success and the amount raised will be a significant help to our hospice. Thank you so much to Mike, Mary and the Handelsbanken team for hosting this fabulous evening, and to all those who donated raffle prizes.  We are really looking forward to next time! ”.
