Katharine House Hospice and Ridestaffs are offering cyclists the chance to win a top prize of the opportunity to cycle part of the Tour de France this year with two charity places up for grabs in L’Etape Du Tour.

Leadout Cycling who will hold their RideStaffs event over the weekend of 2nd and 3rd of July 2016 have created 50 places in the Ride68 Sportive and with each place comes an entry into the L’Etape draw.  All you have to do to be in with a chance of winning one of the two L’Etape charity places  is enter Ride68 and commit to raise just £50 in sponsorship for Katharine House Hospice.

Each L’Etape place winner will also have to commit to raise a minimum of £750 for the hospice for their L’Etape ride.  All sponsorship raised through these events will help to pay for valuable free care for the patients of Katharine House Hospice. Winners of the L’Etape places will be announced in Early April.

Lisa Carson, Events Fundraiser at Katharine House Hospice said “We are extremely excited to be working with RideStaffs this year.  The Staffordshire Cycling Festival is a fantastic event for the local area, which is set to grow, so we are delighted to be able to offer participants the opportunity to ride in the highly sought-after L’Etape Du Tour event.”

L’Etape Du Tour allows cyclists to live the legend of the Tour de France, riding on the same routes and under the same conditions as the professionals.

Cyclists will ride one of the mountain stages of the Tour de France, the same stage towns, the same routes, the same mythical climbs but above all the same race conditions as the Tour.  Places for 2016 L’Etape have already sold out so this is a unique opportunity to be part of Europe’s benchmark cyclosportive event.

Paul Rowlands, organiser of the Staffordshire Cycling Festival said “ I’ve been lucky enough to ride L’Etape on 2 occasions and they’re some of my favourite cycling memories. It’s something every cyclist wants to do at some point in their life. With places for the event sold out, this is a great chance for 2 lucky cyclists to fulfil a dream”.
