Sunday 30th April saw almost 700 hundred cyclists gather for Katharine House Hospice’s annual Cycling Challenge.

With four routes to choose from ranging from the 65 mile maxi route to the 8 mile Family route, the event was as popular as ever with something for all ages and abilities.

Katharine House Hospice Events Fundraiser, Lisa Carson said “we are absolutely thrilled with the success of this years Cycling Challenge. With 680 cyclists taking part, it is the biggest turn-out that we have had for this event. We are hoping that once all of the sponsorship money has come in, it will have reached our fundraising target of £25,000 which will cover the costs of our In-Patient Unit for an entire week. That’s up to 10 patients and their families receiving 24 hour care and around-the-clock support from our care team.”

The event was kindly sponsored by Swinnerton Cycles Forrest Centre, meaning that more of the money raised will go towards patient care.

Thank you to all who supported the event by taking part and raising sponsorship, and to our trusty team of volunteers and suppliers who give up their own time and resources to ensure our events run smoothly.
