Katharine House and headline sponsor Stafford Railway Building Society were delighted with this year’s turnout for the 10K Run and 2K Fun Run held at the Shugborough Estate on Sunday 5th October 2015.
Almost 420 runners took part across both events from which it is anticipated that a fantastic £12,000 will be raised, once all sponsor money is received. This tremendous amount will go towards providing free care services at Katharine House Hospice.
An interesting array of characters adorned this year’s course, including Miss Piggy, Fred Flintstone, Wonder Woman as well as group of cops and robbers (complete with handcuffs!).
For the first time in any of our running events, each competitor on the 10K run was chip-timed which was greatly received!
Congratulations to all those who completed the course, here’s a line- up of the 2014 winners:-
1st Place: Paul Rochfort, 37.45.3
2nd Place: Jonathan Weavell 38.16.3
3rd Place: Mark Bridgwood 38.47.5
1st Place: Deborah Thomas 42.06.8
2nd Place: Keri Lees 47.12.1

We would sincerely like to thank each and every participant who not only took part in this event, but helped to make it happen.
This year's headline sponsor, Stafford Railway Building Society help to ensure that the money raised goes towards the hospice care services and is not spent on running costs.
We would particularly like to thank our army of volunteers who helped us in the set up and running of this key event, without them, we could not make it happen.
Sincere thanks also go to Stafford Harriers, for helping us to set up the route, H Nickolls & Sons for providing the stage, Stafford Radio & Custom Sound Roadshow for providing the entertainment and PA system, Paul Milgate for the Photography, and to La Patisserie for providing some much needed sustenance for our hungry volunteers.
Over 500 photographs were taken during the day, which can be found on our Facebook page. Don’t forget to like, share, or tag, if you spot any familiar faces!
Photographs will also be on sale at Stafford Photo Centre, Salter Street, Stafford and for each photograph purchased, SPC will donate a percentage to our Hospice.
If you took part in Sunday’s event and have yet to submit you sponsorship, please remember to do so at any of the Katharine House shops, or at Katharine House Hospice.
