Mr Prakash Samani

2017 sees us welcome Prakash Samani to our board of trustees. 

Born in 1964, Prakash arrived in the UK in 1972 from Uganda during the expulsion of asians by Idi Amin. He and his family settled in Leek and he has remained there ever since. In 1973, Prakash began work at the newspaper publishers and printers, Hill Brothers Ltd. Starting as an office junior and working his way through all departments, he was appointed Managing Director of the Leek Post, as well as numerous other newspaper titles by the time the business was sold in 2002.

Retiring from paid employment in 2008, Prakash has remained at the forefront of the local community through his work in Magistracy, as Deputy Lieutenant of Staffordshire as well as being a trustee for several different organisations throughout the county. He is also involved in mentoring for the Stafforshire Chamber of Commerce and Industry and is the past Chair of the Minority Business Association. 

Prakash is married to Anila and has 2 grown up sons. Outside of his work in the community, he enjoys reading, travelling, football, cricket and badminton.
