22.5 – 37.5 hours per week, evenings & weekends will be required as part of service development

Salary: £33,000 to £40,000 per annum (full time equivalent), relevant qualifications & experience required

Providing free specialist palliative care through a range of services to the people of Mid Staffordshire since 1989, Katharine House Hospice exists to offer the best care so that people in our community, affected by progressive illnesses, can live life to the full. Primarily a voluntary organisation, we are supported by donations from the local community and the services of over 600 volunteers and 250 staff.

In January 2019 Katharine House Hospice was delighted to add a Palliative Care Nurse Specialist team to our range of care services. We are now seeking to appoint an experienced PCNS or Advanced Nurse / Health Practitioner. We would particularly welcome applicants with experience of caring for people with palliative and end of life needs with long term and chronic conditions in acute, urgent care or community settings.

You must have current registration with the NMC or HCPC, be educated to at least degree level and have post registration experience of delivering palliative care in a clinical setting.

In addition you must have a full valid driving licence and regular access to a car for business purposes

Katharine House Hospice provides ongoing support with professional development, clinical supervision and access to staff counselling services. We are also able to provide access to the NHS pension scheme if you are currently an existing member.

Please note, an enhanced DBS clearance will be required for this role.
