Hours:     Up to 37.5 hours per week, with flexibility to support an occasional on call rota

Katharine House Hospice is looking for a highly capable, organised and motivated manager to lead our very busy maintenance team, managing all aspects of planned and reactive maintenance for the Hospice, Business Centre and our retail sites.  The role will encompass a significant amount of hands-on work and therefore the successful applicant will hold a recognised qualification in a key construction trade e.g. electrical, plumbing, carpentry and will have a good understanding of other areas.

The post-holder will also be responsible for managing tenders, external contractors and volunteers, and will carry out a range of central organisational functions, whilst supporting the Chief Executive in the management of our utility contracts, insurances, disaster plan and other such functions.

A strong understanding of Health and Safety systems and procedures would be advantageous; excellent people skills and management experience is essential.  The post holder will be required to travel around mid and north Staffordshire and will therefore need regular access to an adequately insured vehicle.   Whilst this may be infrequent the team will be required to provide out of hours emergency call out/support, as per an agreed rota.

This post requires unsupervised working with vulnerable adults, an enhanced DBS clearance is therefore a requirement.

It is also essential that you have a driving licence and regular access to an adequately insured car in order to travel between sites.
