Make a Will Month May 2017

Throughout May this year, 9 local solicitors will be supporting Katharine House Hospice by offering basic Will writing services for all our supporters. In return, all you need to do is make a donation to the Hospice (a typical single will costs around £185 + VAT).

If you have been considering writing or amending your will then use this as an opportunity to do so and at the same time you will be supporting your local Hospice.

How to get involved:

Contact a participating solictor today and make your appointment for May

Download the voucher (at the bottom of this page)

Complete your voucher and take along to your appointment together with your voluntary donation

Those taking up the offer are under no obligation to leave a gift in their will but we do hope that you will see this as an opportunity to help your local Hospice.

Gift Aid it!

You really can help us raise vital funds for our patients without it costing you a single penny!

What is Gift Aid?

Gift Aid is a government scheme that promotes charitable giving.  It enables charities like Katharine House Hospice to reclaim basic rate tax on every pound donated by UK taxpayers. So we are able to reclaim 25p in every £1 you donate. Furthermore, for every £10 you raise through sponsorship we could get an extra £2.50.
For example:  Your £100 donation including Gift Aid equates to £125, please tick the box

How does Gift Aid work?

You can increase your donation at NO COST to you. If you are a UK taxpayer we can claim Gift Aid on your donations if you pay an amount of income tax and/or capital gains tax that is at least equal to the amount of tax that we and all other charities and Community Charity Sports Clubs will reclaim on your donation for that tax year.

We can even claim Gift Aid retrospectively, so if you are a supporter of Katharine House Hospice and have donated in the past, but have not yet completed a Gift Aid declaration, we can claim back the tax on all donations made in the last 4 years. It will also cover all future eligible donations, unless you tell us otherwise.

If all our tax-paying supporters made a Gift Aid declaration this would enable us to raise thousands of pounds for the Hospice - just from the donations they have already given.

How can I benefit?

Gift Aid could even make you better off! If you pay the higher rate of income tax, currently 40%, then you can claim tax relief for yourself.

What do I need to do?

It only takes a few moments of your time. It couldn’t be simpler!

Download the Gift Aid Declaration form attached at the bottom of this page and send to Katharine House Hospice, Weston Road, STAFFORD, ST16 3SB
OR
Call us on 01785 270808 and make a verbal declaration

Thank you!
