Volunteer Team Roles

Volunteer driver for Katharine HouseThe Gift of ‘Time’ is precious…could you give some to Katharine House Hospice?

Reception
Providing the all important welcome for visitors and callers.

Patient Care
Listening and talking with patients and helping with lunch time tasks.

Driving
Transporting patients to and from Katharine House Hospice and helping with non-patient journeys for Fundraising and Retail.

Volunteer drivers are always required. We also have a minibus which needs volunteer drivers for patient transportation. Training is available for anyone interested in this role. All voluntary drivers will have a mileage allowance paid

Manning reception Shops
Helping with a variety of retail tasks in order to raise much needed funds.

Fundraising
Opportunities to use clerical/computer skills in the office, represent the Hospice at talks/cheque presentations or get involved in a specific project.

Admin
Helping in the General Office with a variety of clerical activities.

Tea Bars
Helping to raise funds by serving refreshments in the Magistrate’s Court at Stafford and Cannock.

Bereavement Service
Offering support to bereaved relatives/carers.

Gardening
Keeping the Hospice gardens tidy and helping with small projects.

Even if you only have a limited amount of free time you could help on an occasional basis with a variety of small, but important, voluntary roles.

Following the receipt of satisfactory references you will be invited to meet the Volunteer Coordinator to discuss your application. All Hospice, Shop and Tea Bar volunteers receive Induction and Role Training.

We do not generally recruit any new volunteers to help in the Hospice if they have experienced a close bereavement in the last twelve months but we are happy to discuss this if it affects you.
