Corporate Sponsorship

Corporate sponsorshipPartnerships with companies

Over the years we are proud to have built up such a good relationship with our corporate supporters. Our ethos is to find something that benefits both the company and the Hospice. We work with companies in a number of ways depending on what resources they have to hand and how they choose to support us. We are not looking for the ‘quick buck’ but for a long-lasting and enjoyable partnership. Below are a few examples of some of our ongoing partnerships.

Sponsorship partnerships

For the past 5 years Francesco’s of Stone have been the headline sponsors of our popular Ladies Lunch and Hutsby Mees solicitors the secondary sponsor. Over the years the event has become synonymous with these two companies and not only do they make a donation to help us keep the costs down but they have played an active part in supporting the event. Both companies are extremely enthusiastic by the event and are happy to help us where they can. We offer Francesco’s the opportunity to have a display at the event and both companies feature on all the publicity material including press work.

Local Hyundai dealer Sandon Road Motors have been supporters of the Hospice for many years as well as many other good local causes. They have kindly supported our Cycling Challenge for the past two years and are always kind enough to consider opportunities to work with the Hospice.

With our event sponsors we like to work with companies who are targeting a similar audience and are looking to increase their profile within the local community. It is true that many people are more receptive to working with a company if they have associated themselves with a well-respected local charity.

In 2008 we teamed up with local carpet and pressure cleaning company AF Systems who kindly agreed to sponsor our Winter Walk. Andy the proprietor not only wanted to support the Hospice financially but, again, like many of our supporters was keen to help out in any way he could. Andy featured in our press work to promote the event and inserted discount cards into the mailing to increase his awareness and potentially generate business. On the day he also kindly helped out at the event.

Our Grown-up Skool Disco is targeted at a younger, lively audience therefore we were keen to find a sponsor looking to promote itself to a similar audience. In 2008 we formed a partnership with local company Project Paintball who agreed to sponsor the event. Their branding appeared on all the event’s posters and booking forms as well as featured on our press work which we had taken on their grounds making for an interesting picture. The company and guests also attend the event, enjoy the evening and kindly help out by selling raffle tickets.

Other Partnerships

Barclays Bank offer a £4£ matched giving scheme up to the value of £750 per match. Their community team are required to help out at the event and to raise the money which is then matched by the bank. We are fortunate enough to have built up a fantastic relationship with Lindsay Wright, community champion and her local community team. They attend a huge amount of our events and match our raffle and auctions. In 2008 Barclays raised in the region of £6,000 for Katharine House Hospice which makes a vital contribution to our fundraising. This figure in fact runs the Hospice for an entire 24 hours.

Yorkshire Bank selected Help the Hospices as their chosen charity over 2008/2009. Branches are encouraged to take part by the head office but it is not compulsory if the particular branch does not choose to. We were lucky enough to have an extremely enthusiastic branch in Stafford who were more than keen to get on board and take part in some fundraising. The fundraising team led by Vanessa Lowe undertook a series of events in 2008 from hosting quiz nights, attending our events and signing up to our payroll giving scheme all of which 50% are matched by the bank. In 2008 they raised over £4,500 for the Hospice, including matching which was absolutely fantastic. In 2009 they plan to do some team building work in our gardens, and take part in a sponsored cycle ride.
