Carers Group
Katharine House Hospice supports both patients and those close to them. The hospice recognises that it is not just patients who need care but also the people who are caring for them. The Carers Group provides emoti onal and practical support for these people.
The group offers carers the opportunity to relax, unwind, make new friends and talk to someone who appreciates the challenges of being a carer. Carers are welcome to ‘drop in’ on Thursdays between 10am-4pm for advice and support on a one to one basis.
The Carers Group is held every other Thursday afternoon between 1.30pm-3.30pm in the Day Care Lounge at the hospice. We aim to offer a programme of practical tips to make caring easier, enable you to receive support for yourself and join in activities that may provide respite from your caring role.
We may be able to provide transport if you have difficulty coming along to the group and we may also be able to provide a Health Care Assistant to sit with the person you care for whilst you attend the group.
