Skydive
Imagine the absolute thrill of jumping out of an aircraft and falling from 10,000ft before feeling your parachute open as you drift back down to earth and gaze at the picturesque landscape below. You will be left on a high, buzzing for days and left with the most incredible memories that will stay with you forever. On top of that is the knowledge that you helped to raise vital funds for Katharine House Hospice.
September 18th is a special date for Katharine House, not only is it the date of our Skydive - it is also the 10th birthday of our Hospice in-patient unit. We have teamed up with Tilstock Airfield in Shropshire who will be preparing you for your jump on the 18th September.
What is a tandem skydive?
You will be taken up in a plane with your qualified parachute instructor. Once you jump you will freefall for several thousand feet before your parachute is deployed. You will be able to enjoy the amazing scenery below as you drift back down to earth and land safely. What an amazing experience?
How much do you need to raise?
Participants are asked to raise a minimum of £450 (of which a £50 deposit will be required at the time of booking and taken off your total). This covers the cost of your jump and the training (tandem at £230, solo at £140) and leaves a £220 minimum donation to the Hospice. Any extra you raise on top of this will come straight to the Hospice.
Restrictions
To do a tandem skydive you need to be 16 or over. Anyone under 18 will need written consent from a parent or guardian. Anyone aged 40 or over will need to bring a medical declaration signed by their doctor. The maximum age for tandem skydivers is 70 years of age. Please request a medical form for more information on restrictions.
